No the Vols didn’t score two touchdowns today against La Salle’s hapless defense and run out the clock in the fourth quarter. UT juped on La Salle and held them to three hits all afternoon as Christin Stewart, Scott Price and Will Maddox hit home runs on Tuesday night at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

Tennessee improved on the best start in program history, picking up its 11th consecutive win to start the 2014 season. The Vols are one of just two unbeaten teams remaining in the nation. La Salle falls to 1-10 on the season with the loss.

Freshman right-hander Hunter Martin earned the first win of his young career, allowing just three hits and striking out four over three innings of work. Josh Peterson, Andy Cox, Trevor Charpie, Dalton Saberhagen and Zac Grotz entered in relief and did not give up a hit to the Explorers for the rest of the contest.

Tennessee and La Salle will play again on Wednesday at 6 p.m. Bret Marks will get the start in his debut for Tennessee tomorrow.
