Cumberland’s Mike Self was voted the Mid-South Conference Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday after booting a pair of field goals and averaging 40.0 yards per punt against Campbellsville University.

The Lebanon, Tenn., native converted 19- and 34-yard field goals for CU’s only points of the first half. He punted eight times in the contest, with two downed the 20, and Campbellsville also started three more drives inside their own 25 after punts. The Tigers returned only three of the eight punts in the game for 20 yards. Cumberland has allowed just 63 total punt return yards all season.

Self is now 7-for-9 in field goals this season with one of those misses from 55 yards. He has also connected on 28-for-29 extra points while averaging 35.0 yards per punt with 15 downed inside the 20 and 14 fair catches.

Cumberland plays its final regular season road game of the year this Saturday at Bethel University at 2 p.m.
