Baldwin named SEC Freshman of the Week

Vanderbilt’s Wade Baldwin IV, a 6-foot-3, 195-pound guard from Belle Mead, N.J., was named SEC Freshman of the Week after averaging 9.5 points, 7.5 assists, six rebounds and 1.5 steals in wins over Lipscomb and Tennessee State. Baldwin had 11 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals in leading the Commodores over Lipscomb. He followed that up with a 10-assist performance against Tennessee State.

Baldwin was a four star recruit coming out of high school. The guard from St. Joseph’s in New Jersey was ranked as the 100th best prospect in the country according to Rivals. Baldwin picked Vandy over Pitt, Auburn, Virginia Tech, and several other schools.
