Derek Mason channeled his inner-Coach Dinardo earlier this week when he referred to Tennessee as the “team out East” earlier this week in his weekly press conference. Vanderbilt will host UT Saturday at Dudley Field in their last game of the season. Tennessee needs a win to become bowl eligible and Vandy need a win to have something to build on in the offseason.

Former Vanderbilt coach Gerry Dinardo refused to say Tennesse while he was on West End and also referred to UT as “the team to the east”. He went 45-0, 29-25, 62-14 and 65-0 against the Vols during his tenure as head coach during the 90s.

UT coach Butch Jones had a little fun with it and exclaimed, “It’s a beautiful day for the team from the East to practice,” yesterday after practice.

Vandy and “The Team out East” will play Saturday in Nashville live on the SEC Network at 3 PM CT. Tennessee is a 17 point favorite.
