University of Tennessee at Martin sophomore forward Ashia Jones picked up her third adidas Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week honor after her stellar performances against Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State last weekend. In addition to her OVC honors, College Sports Madness named Jones the National Mid-Major Player of the Week.
A native of Covington, Jones notched her second and third 30-point outings of her career against Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State. Jones got the weekend started on the right foot with a career performance against EKU, tallying a personal best 36 points along with six rebounds against the Colonels. She kept her torrid weekend going on Saturday against Morehead State, tallying 30 points and five assists as the team shattered the previous single-game assists record.

Meanwhile, Jones has scored in double figures in 31 of the last 33 games of her young career and leads the league in scoring at 20.0 ppg while ranking 25th in the country. This is her third OVC Player of the Week honor in the past five weeks.
