Cumberland women’s soccer coach Adam Grant announced the squad’s 2015 schedule this week, which includes eight home matches and five contests against teams that participated in last year’s NAIA Championship Opening Round.

The Bulldogs open the season at Tennessee Wesleyan on August 27 before hosting Olivet Nazarene on Aug. 30 at Lindsey Donnell Stadium-Kirk Field. CU heads to Martin Methodist on September 4 and takes on William Carey and the University of Mobile in Orange Beach, Ala., on Sept. 11-12. Olivet Nazarene, Martin Methodist, William Carey and Mobile all played in last season’s NAIA Championship Opening Round.

Cumberland plays three of its next five matches at home starting Sept. 16 versus Brenau University. CU heads to Georgetown College on Sept. 22 to begin Mid-South Conference play and also travels to NCAA Division II North Alabama on Sept. 27 before hosting the University of Pikeville (Sept. 30) and defending national champion Lindsey Wilson (October 3).

The Bulldogs plays at Auburn Montgomery (Oct. 7) and the University of the Cumberlands (Oct. 10). CU plays four of its final five regular season matches at home beginning October 12 versus Georgia Gwinnett.

Cumberland also hosts St. Catharine College (Oct. 17), Campbellsville University (Oct. 27) and Brescia University (November 1) with only a trip to Shawnee State (Oct. 24) in-between.

Grant takes over as the head coach after spending three seasons with the CU program. In those three campaigns the Bulldogs have won a match in the NAIA Championship Opening Round each year and advanced to the NAIA Championship quarterfinals in 2014. CU also won the Mid-South Conference regular season championship in 2013 and the tournament title in 2012.
