Titans round out draft with McBride in Seventh Round

Posted on 03 May 2015 by Allen

The Titans finished up a strong 2015 draft class by picking up William and Mary receiver Tre McBride. The 6’2 Georgia native was picked by Tennessee in the NFL Draft with the 245th overall pick in the seventh round.

Projected as a fifth round pick McBride was an absolute steal in the seventh round as a three-time All-CAA Conference selection. He finished second in the conference with 131.2 all-purpose yards per game. Against Villanova last October McBride exploded for 11 catches and 209 yards receiving and 359 all purpose yards. McBride finished his William and Mary career second in school history in career receptions.

After a storied collegiate career at William and Mary McBride was invited to play in the East West Shrine game where he caught two passes for 23 yards. He also received an invitation to the NFL Combine in Indianapolis.

After the draft McBride changed his Twitter handle to “Pick 245″.

It’s doubtful McBride will get to contribute right away. With Kendall Wright, Harry Douglas, and Justin Hunter penciled in as starters he will have to push Dorial Green-Beckham to get some playing time in 2015. We will likely get a big dose of him in the preseason but it’s doubtful he will big contributor on offense.
