Scott Holtzman will finally make his UFC debut in Nashville on August 8th at the Bridgestone Arena. Holtzman will put his undefeated record on the line against 11-4 Anthony Christodoulou.
Holtzman is an East Tennessee native who trains in Arizona at The Lab with former UFC lightweight champ Benson Henderson. “Hot Sauce” signed with the UFC last August but injuries have kept him on the shelf until now. In his last fight on April 5, 2014 Holtzman defeated George Sheppard by decision.
The former XFC champ is no stranger to Nashville. Holtzman defeated Matt Metts at XFC 18 and Roger Carroll at XFC 26 in Music City.
Christodoulou made his UFC debut in January against Mairbek Taisumov. The Greek lightweight was knocked out in the second round that broke his seven fight win streak.
UFC Fight Night 73 will be headlined by former UT linebacker Ovince St. Preux vs former #1 light heavyweight contender Glover Texeira. The co-main event will feature Michael Johnson vs. Beneil Dariush. Former women’s bantamweight #1 cotender Sara McMann will face Amanda Nunes on the undercard. Roman Salazar vs. Marlon Vera, Jared Cannonier vs. Jonathan Wilson and Timothy Johnson vs. Jared Rosholt have also been rumored for the card as well.
Tickets for UFC Fight Night 73: Saint Preux vs. Teixeira on sale June 19th. The show ill air on Fox Sports 1 with some undercard fights airing on UFC Fight Pass.
