After defeating Illinois yesterday in the Super Regional Vanderbilt had more to celebrate. Three players were picked in the first round of the 2015 MLB Draft.

Dansby Swanson was the first overall pick going to Arizona. The Diamondbacks drafted the shortstop at #1. Swanson hit 15 homers and was thought to be one of the top prospects in college.

Carson Fulmer went #8 to the Chicago White Sox. Fulmer was 13-2 this year with a 1.82 ERA and 152 strikeouts in 114 innings at Vandy.

Walker Buehler was drafted 24th by the Dodgers. The right handed pitcher had 81 strikeouts this year and had an ERA of 2.97.

The trio are due for a big pay day but there is still work to do. Vanderbilt played Cal State Fullerton Sunday in Omaha in the College World Series.
