Cumberland University softball coach Heather Stanfill announced the signing of Riverside, Calif., native Andrea Enriquez to scholarship papers this week for the 2015-16 academic year.
Enriquez is transferring from Fullerton College in Fullerton, Calif., and was a teammate of CU signee Nicole Pratt in 2015. Enriquez batted .275 in 33 games this past season, posting a pair of doubles with five RBIs, five walks and three stolen bases in 40 at-bats.
She did not play in 2014 but hit .231 in 40 contests with three doubles, one homer, 11 RBIs, nine walks and seven stolen bases as a freshman.
Enriquez was a three-year letterwinner at John W. North High School in Riverside for coach Chuck Zerkle. She is the daughter of Francisco and Veronica Enriquez.
Enriquez is the fourth signee in this year’s recruiting class, joining Pratt (Riverside, Calif.), Imani Torregano (Laurel, Md.) and Gianna Abatti (Nipomo, Calif.).
