Cumberland women’s basketball coach Jeremy Lewis announced the club’s 2014-15 schedule this week, which includes 14 home games and contests against six teams that reached last year’s NAIA National Tournament.

The Bulldogs open the season at home on November 1 against Bryan College before three straight road games the following week at Middle Georgia State College (Nov. 4), Fisk University (Nov. 6) and Oakwood University (Nov. 8). CU returns home Nov. 11 to face Oakwood and takes on long-time rival and perennial power Freed-Hardeman on Nov. 17.

Cumberland begins Mid-South Conference play that same week with road tilts at Georgetown College (Nov. 20) and Shawnee State (Nov. 22). A home contest against Middle Georgia on December 1 is sandwiched around two more conference outings, at home against St. Catharine College (Dec. 4) and Campbellsville University (Dec. 6).

The Bulldogs also host Division II Lewis University on Dec. 14 before traveling to Reinhardt University (Dec. 16) and then participating in a tournament at Bluefield State College on Dec. 19-20 before breaking for Christmas.

The squad returns after the break to host Tennessee Wesleyan on January 10 and faces D-II Oakland City University the following day in Campbellsville, Ky., before getting into the meat of the league schedule.

CU heads to the University of the Cumberlands (Jan. 15) and the University of Pikeville (Jan. 17) as well as Lindsey Wilson (Jan. 22) before hosting three straight contests, taking on Fisk University (Jan. 24), Pikeville (Jan. 29) and the Cumberlands (Jan. 31).

Cumberland travels to St. Catharine (Feb. 5) and Campbellsville (Feb. 7) to begin the month of February but plays three of its final four regular season outings at the Dallas Floyd Recreation Center, taking on Shawnee State (Feb. 12), Georgetown (Feb. 14) and Lindsey Wilson (Feb. 26) with only a trip to Tennessee Wesleyan (Feb. 18) mixed in.

The 2014 Mid-South Conference Championships take place March 5, 7-8 at the Frankfort Convention Center in Frankfort, Ky., and the 35th Annual NAIA Championships take place March 18-24 in Independence, Mo.
