Derek Mason picked up a solid wide receiver commit earlier this week when Donaven Tennyson announced he was coming to Vanderbilt next year. Tennyson will be a senior this season and had been offered by Tennessee, Michigan State, West Virginia among other schools. Mason offered Tennyson in February.
The 5’11″, 175 pound Richmond, VA native had previously been thought to be a Vol but he has decided to go to Vanderbilt instead. Tennyson caught 34 passes for 836 yards and 14 touchdowns last year as a junior. The Dores have a pretty good QB prospect committed named Deuce Wallace who will love to have a fast downfield receiver like Tennyson catching passes.
Nothing is ever in stone when it comes to verbal commits and if the Dores have another bad year this year it’s possible some guys jump ship. We’ll have to wait until February to see what happens when he can actually sign the NLI.
